Synopsis:

Dr. Vicki Westin (Tia Carrere-"WAYNE'S WORLD," "TRUE LIES") has only two days. forty eight hours in which to choose whether her husband Billy (Richard Burgi-"CELLULAR," "STARSHIP TROOPERS 2") or her daughter JORDAN will live.the other will die.

Vicki woke up this morning to loving birthday wishes from her husband and daughter. Now, they have both been kidnapped by a grief stricken man (Dale Midkiff -"THE CROW: SALVATION," "PET SEMATARY") who lost his daughter to death and his wife to a coma while in Vicki's care. Vicki's family members are not his first victims though. He has already taken his revenge on three of the health insurance officers who held up the approval on his wife's surgery, as well as the attending physician who assisted Vicki on her failed attempt to save his wife's life. But this disturbed man has planned something special for Dr. Westin. He wants her to live so that she may feel the devastating loss of whichever loved one her choice condemns to death.

When Vicki first realizes that Billy and Jordan are missing, she immediately contacts the police. However, when Vicki admits that she and her husband had a minor argument as he was leaving with Jordan that morning, they assume that he just took off because of their marital spat. The police officers condescendingly inform her that she needs to wait and see what happens. What happens is that Vicki soon receives a phone call from the kidnapper informing her that she has just forty eight hours to choose between the life of her husband and that of her daughter. If she tells anyone, he will immediately kill both of them.

Unfortunately, the police have just found Billy's car in a ravine so when they come to Vicki's house to check it out and she follows the kidnappers instructions by telling them it was all a mistake, they do not believe her. The detectives drag her down to the station, and although they are sure she is lying, they have no proof of wrong doing so they are eventually forced to let her go. Shortly thereafter though, she finds her colleague Dr. Crenshaw murdered, and since she is witnessed fleeing the scene of the crime, a warrant is issued for her arrest.

Even though she is now in hiding from the police, Vicki is not the type of woman who gives up easily, so she begins a desperate search on her own. She must find out who this kidnapper is and why he has chosen to extract his revenge on her. She starts to go through the hospital files searching for wrongful death suits or other grievances against her, but it seems there are just too many to contact. Her friend Cindy tries to help her with the loan of her car and by obtaining a handgun for her, but the kidnapper seems to know every move Vicki makes. He shoots Cindy in the shoulder as a warning to Vicki to keep their secret. The only other person Vicki finally confides in is Jerry, the tech who upgraded her office computer system, but only because he discovers her at the hospital and is about to turn her over to the authorities. When he hears of the danger her family is in, Jerry offers to help. However, ultimately Vicki knows that saving her family is something she must do herself, and soon, because her time and their time is swiftly running out.
