Dawna Williams (MICHELLE STAFFORD), 37, is the attractive curator of the esteemed Hansen Art Gallery in Philadelphia. Despite her career success at such an admirable age, her first and most important role is being a single mother to her beautiful 19 year old daughter Emily (DANI KIND). Having had Emily when she was only 18, Dawna has done her best to give her daughter everything two parents could… including an education at a prestigious University. Emily, on the other hand, has been a bit of a wild child the past few years, dating “bad” boys, partying hard, and not really focusing on school. When Emily procrastinates registering for classes, she finds herself in a situation where the classes that fulfill a requirement are full and Emily may be forced to graduate a semester late. She goes to her mother, asking her to pull some strings and get her out of the situation. Dawna asks her “friend” John Collier (WILLIAM R. MOSES), 40, a colleague she’s recently hired to do some consulting work at the gallery and someone she is considering getting closer to, if he can do anything to help Emily get into a class. He’s happy to oblige and gets Emily enrolled into his own class. Unfortunately, John isn’t exactly what he seems to be… With an obsession for beautiful young women, and a dark compulsion to control them, John has an even more macabre past. John, unbeknownst to Dawna, begins a relationship with Emily. Enraged over spilled wine, John kills Emily in a fit of violence, then buries her body in a remote location. Emily is considered a missing personand an adult at thatso the police do little to help find her. Therefore, Dawna begins to investigate her daughter’s disappearance, never realizing that her biggest supporter is also the man who murdered her child. When Emily’s body is found, a full-on murder investigation is launched, and John makes sure the wrong man (Emily’s “bad-boy” boyfriend) is charged with the murder. The police see it as an open and shut case, but Dawna senses something isn’t quite right. The deeper she digs into the case, the more convinced she becomes that the real killer is still out there. Tangled in a web of lies, Dawna must uncover John’s evil past, before becoming his next victim… |
