A NANNY’S SECRET Claudia (HAYLIE DUFF) has a bright future and a difficult past. She attends the university where she’s close to becoming a teacher, has a loving boyfriend named Drew (ERIC JOHNSON), and lives with a terrific family the Tyrrellsworking as a nanny to their 7-year-old son Aiden (ALEX CARDILLO). The only thing she can’t manage to get a handle on is her younger brother Carter (DILLON CASEY). Ever since their father passed away leaving them with no family except each other, Carter’s life has progressively spiraled downhill. He parties and does drugs, and has called Claudia multiple times to bail him out of jail. Despite Drew’s feelings that she should cut him off completely, Claudia is always there for her brother, defending his behavior and loaning him money when he needs it. But not this time… When Carter finds himself owing a big time drug dealer several thousand dollars, he goes to his sister for a loan. Claudia denies him the money, a fight ensues and Carter leaves telling her that he never wants to talk to her again. The following night, there is a home invasion at the Tyrrell house. A single, masked intruder pushes his way in and forces Jennifer Tyrrell (JESSICA STEEN) to open the safe. Unbeknownst to the robber, Jennifer’s father, Kurt (SHAWN LAWRENCE), is there. In an attempt to protect the family, Kurt attacks the robber and is shot. Detectives ask Claudia whether anyone had been by the house recently and she intentionally decides not to reveal that Carter was there the night before. Unfortunately, Claudia’s lie will soon come back to haunt her when Kurt dies in the hospital and the robbery becomes a murder investigation. Claudia is the only one who believes her brother is innocent, and when Carter convinces her that someone planted the evidence to frame him for the robbery, Claudia begins to realize that she is the only link between the Tyrrells and Carter, meaning the real killer is someone in her own world. Determined to exonerate her brother and uncover the truth, Claudia must look at those closest to her, including the man she loves. In doing so, she finds herself caught up in a web of lies, greed, and betrayal. |
